TEAMS & ORGANISATIONS
A team can consist of capable professionals and still get stuck. A manager can act carefully and still trigger behavior nobody intended. And an employee may struggle because of circumstances that are not located only within that person.
That is why we look not only at behavior, but also at the context in which it develops: pressure, expectations, interaction patterns, implicit rules, capacity and the room people have to adjust.
Teams & organisations
The same visible problem can have very different causes. Choose the route closest to what is happening now.
For teams where collaboration, communication, expectations, pressure or recurring patterns need attention.
View team coaching →Confidential individual coaching for employees and leaders, online or within the organisation.
View coaching within organisations →For leaders who want to examine what their own behavior, decisions, expectations and response to pressure do within teams.
View coaching for managers →For IT environments where cognitive load, incidents, dependencies and continuous change affect collaboration and capacity.
View HSP for IT managers →Look at the context
What appears to be a communication, motivation or resistance problem may also be an effect of the conditions people are working in.
The first question is therefore not: “Who needs to behave differently?” It is: “What makes this behavior understandable or predictable in this situation?”
Forms of support
The format follows the question. It may involve an individual conversation, team coaching, a team session, observation, a workshop or a scan.
For Agile and Scrum teams, the Agile/Scrum Quick Scan can quickly indicate where pressure, implicit rules, activation or reduced capacity may be influencing the team.
Human System Protocol™
I use HSP to view behavior not only as a characteristic of a person, but as output from a system responding to input, meaning, expectations, pressure and available capacity.
This helps examine more precisely where genuine room for change exists: within a person, in interaction, in a team rule or in the wider organisational context.
Next step
You do not need to decide in advance whether you need team coaching, individual coaching, a workshop or something else.
Briefly describe what is happening and what you would like to see change. We can first determine what a sensible next step might be.
