HSP — EXPERIMENT ZONE
Not every interesting explanation belongs in the HSP framework immediately. The Experiment Zone explores working hypotheses about what may happen when activation, body state, predictions and choice space are revisited under sufficiently safe conditions.
HSP is used here as a system map: to observe, formulate questions and design small experiments — without treating a plausible explanation as established fact.
Core sentence: Explore the hypothesis without confusing it with the model.
From model to research question
HSP describes how input, predictive interpretation, learned system logic, activation, capacity, choice space, output and feedback interact. That architecture also raises questions that HSP does not yet claim as established mechanisms.
The Experiment Zone is where those questions are explored through observation, working hypotheses and small experiments. Not to prove an idea in advance, but to make visible what may be happening and what can actually be observed.
Some hypotheses may prove useful. Others may need to be revised or rejected. That is information too.
Core question: what might be happening here — and what can we actually observe?
The boundary matters
A plausible explanation is not yet an established mechanism.
A working hypothesis is a possible explanation that can guide observation and experimentation while remaining open to revision or rejection. An interesting result may show that an idea is worth investigating. It does not automatically prove that the proposed explanation is correct.
The same applies when existing methods are viewed through HSP. If parts of a method can be translated into HSP dynamics, that does not automatically confirm that method’s own theory, terminology or claims.
Working hypothesis: useful to investigate, not yet established as part of the HSP model.
Questions worth testing
The first experiments start from HSP architecture and investigate what might follow from it.

Can a recognizable body state provide information about an activated system configuration — and does something change when that state is re-accessed later while sufficient capacity and choice space remain available?

The goal is not to prove a hypothesis right. The goal is to make the proposed dynamics visible enough to learn something from them.
For example, observe:
Do not experiment by deliberately overwhelming yourself. An experiment only makes sense when there is no immediate danger and enough capacity and choice space remain to observe, choose and stop.
Information is a useful result — including when an experiment does not produce the expected change.
Not conclusions yet
The Experiment Zone does not need to know the answer in advance. Good questions matter more here than quick conclusions.
Does a learned route need to be traced back to its original event before the system can update?
Is the important change in meaning, prediction, learned system logic, activation, feedback — or some combination?
Or is increased choice space while activation is still present already a meaningful system change?
How much activation is needed to make an old route accessible, and how much capacity must remain for new information to be processed?
What distinguishes temporarily feeling calmer from the system actually responding differently in a later, similar situation?
Can a method produce useful system effects even when its own explanation of why it works is incomplete or incorrect?
