Consciousness, Free Will & Reality

EXPLORATIONS · BEYOND THE BOUNDARY OF HSP

HSP describes the human system layer. Here we explore larger questions: what if consciousness is more fundamental, the future is not fully fixed, and information may sometimes become available beyond the ordinary sensory route? Without making those ideas part of HSP.

Thought experiment, not an HSP premise. You do not need to accept My Big TOE, a consciousness-first model or a virtual-reality model in order to use HSP.

Why this page exists

A larger question, a clear boundary

Human System Protocol™ describes the human system layer: how we process information, assign meaning, predict, become activated and how much choice space is available in a given moment.

These explorations ask a larger question. What if consciousness, free will and a potentially probabilistic reality are part of a bigger model? And if intent matters, why do we still not always choose the way we genuinely want to?

You do not need to believe the larger model. The explorations examine it as a thought experiment and repeatedly return to the human question: what might this mean for choice, behavior and development?

Three layers we deliberately keep separate

No-BS reading rule

1. HSP

What happens in the human system? Input, prediction, activation, capacity, choice space, behavior and feedback.

2. Ordinary influence

What you attend to, choose and do changes information, relationships and circumstances — and therefore what becomes possible next.

3. The additional hypothesis

My Big TOE goes further and proposes, among other things, that consciousness is fundamental and Intent may influence probabilities. We explore that here as a hypothesis, not as an HSP fact.

MBT in plain language

One-time terminology reference

My Big TOE uses a large technical vocabulary. We introduce the most important terms here once. Throughout the explorations themselves, we then use ordinary language wherever possible.

MBT term Here we call it Relation to HSP
Larger Consciousness System (LCS) the larger system Outside HSP. MBT describes this as the larger consciousness and information system.
IUOC / individual consciousness the player Outside HSP. The individual consciousness that experiences and chooses.
avatar the human / human system This is the main connection: HSP primarily describes this human system layer.
PMR physical reality Environment and events here can become input for the human system.
NPMR other experiential realities Outside HSP; relevant only where the larger thought experiment explores that possibility.
probable-future database possible futures Outside HSP. Possible next states before it is clear what actually happens.
past database information about the past Outside HSP; not the same as human memory.
Reality Wide Web (RWW) the information network Outside HSP; MBT's metaphor for access to information and other consciousness.
Akasha / Akashic Records traditional metaphor for an information field Not an MBT term. There is a functional resemblance to MBT's larger information architecture and databases: information about actualized history, unactualized possibilities and possible future states may be accessible. The comparison does not mean that MBT and Akasha are the same model.
decision space possible choices Related to, but not the same as HSP choice space. HSP asks which choices are actually accessible to the human system in its current state.
Intent Intent We retain this term. In MBT it means more than wanting an outcome: the deeper direction and motivation from which consciousness chooses.

In short: MBT describes a possible larger system and the player within it. HSP describes what happens in the human system when information becomes experience and a real choice has to be made.

Other MBT terms are explained only when they are actually needed.

THOUGHT EXPERIMENT

The Player, the Avatar and the Protocol

What if consciousness is the player and the human being is the constrained interface through which that player experiences this reality? This is where the larger thought experiment begins.

Does HSP Need a Theory of Consciousness?

No. Read why HSP remains independently useful regardless of which larger model of consciousness ultimately turns out to be right.

The exploration series

Five questions · one reading path

Start with the larger hypothesis and end somewhere very practical: how can a better choice become genuinely available more often?

01 · REALITY

What if the future consists of probabilities?

What if the future is not fixed yet? An accessible exploration of probability, influence without control, other players and how small differences can change your trajectory.

Read →

02 · INTENT

Intent is not the same as wanting

You can want something very strongly and still move in another direction. What is the difference between wanting, sustained direction, attention and Intent and what roles do expectation, belief and attachment play?

Read →

03 · CHOICE SPACE

Why good intent does not automatically lead to a good choice

You know how you want to respond and still do something else. HSP shows how prediction, activation and capacity shape which choices are actually available in that moment.

Read →

04 · DEVELOPMENT

What would ‘lowering entropy’ mean for a human system?

Not becoming perfect or permanently calm. Perhaps instead: less unnecessary protection, more coherence, better learning from feedback, and more room for choices guided by Intent rather than unnecessary fear and protection.

05 · EXPERIMENT

Can you train to choose more freely more often?

Make it practical. Notice where choice space disappears, restore capacity, test one small alternative and see what your system can learn from what actually happens.

Further exploration: where can information come from?

Two questions · optional side route

The five questions above remain the core route. Alongside them sits another, more speculative question: can information sometimes become part of our experience without arriving through the ordinary sensory route?

HSP begins once information has become part of human experience. The larger thought experiment asks an earlier question: where might that information have come from?

06 · INFORMATION

What if consciousness can receive more information than the senses provide?

Intuition, dreams and unexpected insights can have ordinary explanations. My Big TOE adds a larger possibility: consciousness might sometimes receive information beyond the ordinary sensory route. What could that mean for intuition, meditation, remote viewing and OBE?

07 · TESTING

How do you investigate such information without fooling yourself?

Observe first, interpret later. Use blind targets, pre-recorded impressions, feedback and misses as well as hits. That lets you investigate unusual experiences without deciding their explanation in advance.

Read →

Reading rule: information appearing in your experience does not tell you where it came from.

Where HSP becomes practical again

Back to the human interface

In the core route, the first two explorations can move far beyond HSP. From article 03 onward, the question changes: not only what a larger model might look like, but what happens in a human system when you actually have to choose.

Experience
Meaning & prediction
Activation & capacity
Choice Space
Output & feedback

The optional information branch deliberately moves beyond HSP again. The same boundary still applies: HSP does not need to determine where information came from in order to examine what the human system does with it.

Want to explore the HSP mechanics without the larger thought experiment?

Not every possibility is an available choice

Why being able to imagine an option does not mean your system can access it in that moment.

Does HSP need consciousness?

The rule for these explorations

Curious without making claims larger

A thought experiment can go far. The wording should remain clear about what is hypothesis, ordinary causality and HSP.

  • An interesting model is not yet an established mechanism.
  • Probability does not mean manifestation or control.
  • A personal or unusual experience does not automatically prove an effect of Intent or access to information beyond the senses.
  • Information appearing in your experience does not tell you where it came from.
  • What can be explained through ordinary attention, pattern recognition, choice, action and feedback does not need a metaphysical explanation.
  • And if the larger model ultimately turns out to be wrong, HSP should remain independently useful.

The goal is not to make HSP bigger. The goal is to explore larger questions without blurring the boundary of HSP.

HSP does not need this thought experiment

BACK TO HSP

The perspectives and explorations can open questions, but HSP remains usable without these assumptions.
